FROM SCRATCH FARM

I’m Amy. My biggest titles are “mom” and “maker.” But I’m also a chef, driver, photographer, developer, tester, bottler, labeler, social media manager, store owner, maid, pet caretaker, co-op director, blogger, order fulfillment associate, gardener, bestie, delivery person, and more! 😉

21 years ago- I became a MOMMA, and am now the mom to two young men. All of these years, I’ve wanted nothing but the best for my boys. I’ve changed what we eat and what products we use. I’ve tried hard to eliminate processed foods and toxins from our home. And as a single mom for the last 10 years, I’ve wanted nothing more but to be around as much as I can for the boys, and to set a good example for them. So I started a business!

11 years ago- I became a MAKER. Of natural, non-toxic, pampering, sudsy, moisturizing, detoxifying, eco-friendly, cleansing, and hydrating home, bath, and body products. To make a difference for our home, our health, our planet, for my new customers. It’s been an amazing decade of changing people’s skin!

7 years ago- I became a FOUNDER. I founded National Handmade Day. To celebrate makers! To bring awareness to handmade. To cheer on the artisans and artists. To shine a light on the quality and uniqueness of homemade goods. Viva la handmade!

5 years ago- I became a DIRECTOR. I started up Handmade on Main. A boutique handmade shop and a maker co-op. To give a home base to some of my favorite makers. To give them exposure, love, direction, wholesale and market opportunities, community over competition, and sometimes just a listening ear. To give them a space to have hands-on workshops. To provide them an online presence. To help their business grow.

CRAZY PLANT LOVEE

"My love for plants goes back pretty far but after our second son was born I found joy in taking the time to really care for them. I started propagating my own and had so many that I began putting them into pretty much anything.

I was quickly running out of space to put them in my home and I wanted to continue my creative outlet. That’s when my business idea started. I wanted to have a creative nursery business using unique, vintage, up-cycled, and handmade items.

But, I didn't just want to sell plants. I wanted to foster the love of caring for them too. I think many people want to love plants, but remember how quickly they killed the last one. That shouldn’t hold anyone back from trying again. That’s why I offer a plant replacement policy. If you kill the plant, send me a message, meet me at my next market with your planter and we will re-pot it together. I started Punchoholic in early 2024 with the goal of revamping the punch needle world with more trendy and modern kits! With all of the wasted hours we spend scrolling on our phones, I noticed people looking for hobbies that are simple yet stimulating. Punch needling is the perfect craft to fill this need. Not only do you get an entertaining way to pass time but also a piece of art that you will be proud to display.

ART & SOUL

"Hey Everyone! My name is Anastasia and I’m the creator of Art & Soul TX Design.  I started my small biz in 2019 on Etsy with just a few sticker products that were mainly for Art teachers. I started this business because, as an Art teacher myself, I knew how difficult it was to find things made specifically for Art educators. At the time, planners were popular and I wanted to find cute Art teacher stickers to help me stay organized with my busy teaching schedule. As I shopped around, to my surprise, I couldn’t find any stickers for Art educators. I was only able to find stickers from other Etsy shops and they were generic Faculty Meeting and Report Card reminder stickers. I knew if I wanted something to help me keep track of my discovery days, Art district meeting reminders, and school Art shows, I had to take the plunge and create my very own products. That’s when I decided to learn how to create planner stickers. I taught myself how to draw graphic designs, how to transfer the design to the computer and crop them to the proper size, and how to print and cut them through Cricut software. I honestly thought this would have been easy, but it took me almost a year to figure out how to make stickers. I remember wanting to quit at one point, but thankfully, I didn’t, because I wouldn’t be where I am today!

I have branched out a lot since I started this journey. I joined Handmade on Main in 2022 selling only teacher vinyl and planner stickers. After three years in the shop, I expanded to magnets, t-shirts, lanyards, coloring books, and cards. My mission is to bring joy and happiness to teachers and Texas locals through my fun, colorful, and artsy vibe!"

In order to make a perfect cocktail, you must study, craft, taste, and fine-tune recipes. But, who has time for that? In an effort to find something a little more approachable, but still just as fun, MIXY was born.

Founder Meredith created Mixy during a time when gathering outside the home was a bit difficult. Restaurants and bars were closed which meant delicious cocktails were scarce. Meredith created our original flavors, in her Dallas kitchen, with the help of her friends and family. After realizing how delicious her homemade cocktails were, she wanted to share them with everyone! Meredith wanted to give the rest of us the amazing at home experience she was able to create with Mixy.

MIXY makes craft mixology simple by providing handcrafted ingredients to make delicious drinks with a simple two-step process. Add 24 ounces of the spirit of your choice to the jar and let it infuse in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. The infused liquor can be enjoyed on its own, with our suggested mixers, or added to your favorite cocktail recipes.
