Zephaniah 3:17 is such a powerful combination of words! It first describes the Lord as mighty, which I associate with strong, war-like images. But instead, God flips the script, and look at what comes next: delight. Gladness. Love. Calming fears, rejoicing, joyful songs. Friend, God is not just mighty in judgement or righteousness or power. He is mighty in calming fears. Mighty in delighting in us. Mighty in rejoicing. Mighty as a savior. So grateful for the way He loves.
